Objectives

The main objective was to improve, harmonize and standardize conduct of first responders in partner countries, in tactics and techniques in the use of force and first aid - through the new curriculum and training manual that the partners developed jointly. It enabled teaching staff, experts and participants of pilot trainings to exchange experience and good practices in both teaching methods and police tactics. Ultimately, it will make first responders better equipped for daily challenges.

Activities

Analysis of current partners’ national curricula on the use of force and first aid, and development of a joint curriculum for first responders on the use of force and first aid, with manual for the trainers and train-the-trainer workshop. Implementation of the developed curriculum in four pilot trainings in partner countries. Dissemination of the intellectual outputs among the trainers who conduct trainings on the use of force tactics and techniques and first aid, through train-the-trainers workshop. Wider dissemination of the results through project web site and closing conference.

Impact

PR1 Joint curriculum and training manual developed; PR2 Four pilot trainings in partner countries implemented; PR3 All project intellectual outputs (curriculum, training manual) disseminated to the police administrations in each partner country; PR4 One online train-the-trainers workshop per partner country conducted; PR5 National in-house trainings in every participating country standardized; PR6 National police organizations, international partners and EU agencies informed on project results.
