Objectives

The aim of the project was to promote the reintegration of women with large families and long-term unemployment into the labour market, with a special focus on supporting mother entrepreneurs (“mompreneurs”). This was done by providing entrepreneurial skills, introducing role models and creating a supportive environment in which participants could gain confidence and motivation to find their own way. Our aim was to collect good practices to support the reconciliation of family and career, provide training, interview inspiring women and create educational material. Another priority was to launch two women-led businesses and to develop participants' entrepreneurial skills, risk-taking and awareness. It was important to ensure that an active international community of women would continue to develop after the project and that it would support its members in the long term.

Activities

The project has involved activities at several levels: local, national and international. In two countries - Hungary and Romania - entrepreneurship training for women with large families was carried out in parallel. In two 5-day international mobility programmes, participants attended professional presentations, met women entrepreneurs, learned about good practices and developed their own entrepreneurial profiles. At local level, 2 to 2-day training sessions were also organised to further deepen the knowledge of the target group. We conducted research on successful women's businesses and collected the most relevant examples, which were incorporated into a trilingual training material. In addition, we conducted inspiring interviews with women entrepreneurs and presented the results at an international final conference to inspire others to start their own business.

Impact

The project has produced a number of tangible and impact-based results. A trilingual (Hungarian, Romanian, English) educational material for mothers with large families was produced, providing practical help for starting a business. Two 5-day international mobility trips with 43 participants were organised, where participants developed their own entrepreneurial profile, learned about good practices and gained intercultural experience. Three women entrepreneurs were interviewed and their presentation served as a motivation for the target group. Eight women entrepreneurs were visited on site and a supportive international community was established. A total of 40 women participated in local training, many of whom developed their business ideas and received mentoring support. The final conference of the project was open to the public with strong dissemination. One of the outcomes was a measurable increase in the participants' self-confidence, entrepreneurial mindset and activity.
