▶Objectives
The main objective of the BridGE Europe project is to learn about the nature of the continuously widening generational gap between younger and older generation of teachers in European secondary schools, especially in the countries of the project partners, Hungary, Portugal and Slovenia. After studying this phenomenon, our goal is to develop a training programme/workshop, called BridGE training, which aims at bridging the gap between the two generations with special focus on digital skills.
▶Activities
First, we create a survey for secondary school teachers to ask them about the generational gap. After having the results, we will analyse them identify the most important fault lines between younger and older teachers. After, we will build a BridGE training to address these issues, focusing especially on digital skills. During the project we will do 2 pilot implementations of BridGE training in Portugal and Slovenia. Finally, we will hold multiplier events to reach schools with the new training.
▶Impact
Firstly, as a result of the BridGE Europe project we will have a deeper understanding of the generational gap between younger and older generation of teachers in secondary school especially in Hungary, Portugal and Slovenia. Secondly, we will be able to help European secondary school beyond our project partners’ countries to tackle this generational gap with the main result of the project, the BridGE training, which puts special emphasis for digital skills in teaching.
