Objectives

The 4 main objectives of this project where 1. We wanted to build our organisational capacities a. To foster exchange of best practice between Síolta Chroí & Virsoleil in our work of supporting adult learners; b. To enhance the international experience of our organisations; c. To strengthen the cooperation between both partners. 2.We wanted to develop an educational resources that would supporting adult learners in our community in the field of Ecosystem Restoration. To create a course that we could run going forward in our education and training centres. 3. Both organisations wanted to explore Erasmus+ opportunities. To see what is possible and t work at a European level 4. We are both members of a global movement called Ecosystem restoration communities. We wanted to disseminate the skills and practices of ecosystem restoration work to a wider cohort. As well as create something useful that would go beyond the participating organisations.

Activities

The activities we implement in this project were. We hosted two staff mobilities. The first one happen in October 2023. Virsoleil came to Ireland at the beginning of the project. We spent a week together learning about both organisations, building our connection and planning out the overall project. We also went into specific details on key outputs of the project. We also visit different adult education projects around Ireland focused on Ecosystem restoration The second staff mobility happened in June 2024. Siolta Chroi travelled to France at the end of the project to learn more about Virsoleil work see there project, to finalize the training course. We have completed the development of the 16 hour ecosystem restoration course for adult education. This includes session plans, a facilitators guide and presentations for the relevant modules. We have these in both English and in French. We ran two community events one in France and one in Ireland. This was in part to test run the content that we have developed and give us a chance to tighten it and clarify parts were needed. It also gave us an opportunity to bring adult learners from rural community into the project and widen the learning of the project to our communities. .
