Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve several key objectives. First, we aimed to increase our students’ awareness of environmental issues and the importance of sustainable practices in everyday life. We also wanted to empower them with the skills and knowledge needed to become active, responsible citizens capable of contributing to a greener future. Another important goal was to foster international cooperation and intercultural understanding by connecting our students and teachers with peers from other European countries. Through collaborative activities, we hoped to develop critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills related to environmental challenges. Ultimately, we sought to integrate sustainability more deeply into our school’s educational practices and to create a lasting impact on our local community.

Activities

In our project, we implemented a variety of activities aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental awareness among students. We organized workshops on topics such as climate change, recycling, biodiversity, and renewable energy. Students participated in outdoor activities like eco-walks, local clean-up campaigns, and the creation of a school garden. We also carried out collaborative projects with our European partners, including virtual exchanges, shared research on environmental issues, and the creation of digital materials such as videos, posters, and e-books. Additionally, we invited experts to give talks and held awareness-raising events involving the local community. Throughout the project, we integrated sustainability themes into different subjects across the curriculum to make environmental education a cross-disciplinary experience.

Impact

The project produced several concrete outputs and important results. Among the main outputs, we created a collection of digital resources, including videos, posters, e-books, and presentations focused on environmental sustainability. We also developed a school garden as a practical, long-term initiative promoting biodiversity and environmental responsibility. Another key output was a series of educational workshops and community events that strengthened ties between the school and the local community. In terms of results, students significantly improved their knowledge of environmental issues and developed important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and digital literacy. The project also fostered a greater sense of European identity and intercultural understanding among students and teachers through collaboration with partner schools. Finally, sustainability was integrated more systematically into our school curriculum, ensuring a lasting impact beyond the project's end.
