▶Objectives
The project aimed to achieve three main objectives. First, to educate students in inclusive communication by developing manuals on best and worst practices in language and imagery, helping them avoid stereotypes and recognize the importance of the words and images they choose to use. Second, to create spaces for dialogue and sharing, like the “Agora” sessions, where students could express their uniqueness and ultimately created greater empathy and mutual understanding among their classroom peers. Third, to transform these experiences into creative products, including the production of inclusive photographs and a digital exhibition, “I Am Your Mirror,” that represent and normalize diversity. The project sought to enhance digital competences through collaborative online research, content creation and the use of new technologies and tools. Through these activities, the project intended to reduce exclusion and bullying, promote equality and non-discrimination, and create schools that reflect the European values of respect and diversity.
▶Activities
The project was implemented through a sequence of different activities. The first major activity focused on research, where students answered questionnaires, produced photo and video content and ultimately created digital manuals on best and worst practices for inclusive language and images in English and partner languages. Next, the “Agora” sessions were held in each school, which provided safe spaces for students to share their uniqueness through dialogue or creative expression, supported by teachers and psychologists ―extended by a “Postal Agora” open to all students. Building on this, selected participants joined the LTTA “Let’s Create Inclusive Images” in Bulgaria, where they had the chance to meet, discuss and exchange best practices, and become both models and creators of inclusive photographs. The outcomes of the Agora sessions and the LTTA were integrated into the digital exhibition “I Am Your Mirror,” designed as a virtual museum to represent the students’ diversity as they expressed it through their own lens. Finally, communication and dissemination activities included a project website, social media, eTwinning space, videos, newsletters, and multiplier events to ensure broad visibility and sustainability.
▶Impact
The project produced two digital manuals, one on inclusive language and one on inclusive images, containing best and worst practice examples provided by the students themselves, translated into partner languages. Testimonies and personal experiences collected during the “Agora” sessions were documented in reports and shared through the “Postal Agora,” which remains as a permanent installation in all partner schools. In Bulgaria, during the LTTA “Let’s Create Inclusive Images,” students produced a collection of inclusive photographs that visually represented their uniqueness and stories of inclusion. These materials, together with the manuals, video testimonies and audiovisual material produced by partner staff and students, were integrated into the virtual exhibition “I Am Your Mirror,” a 3D environment on the Hubs platform accessible for free. Communication and dissemination activities resulted in a project website, social media channels, videos and multiplier events, ensuring visibility within and beyond the school communities.
