Objectives

By implemeting the project we wanted to improve students' awareness, scientific knowledge and practical skills related to natural energy and environment. We also wanted to make science learning more attractive through practical activities and to promote STEM education and inclusion by offering equal opportunities of learning to students from different social backgrounds., Our objectives have been directly linked to the priorities: improving students' scientific knowledge of green energy and environment issues related to environment and climate priority; making science learning more attractive and to increase the level of achievement in STEM; social inclusion by including in project activities students from disadvantaged areas.

Activities

We had 4 LTTA activities: (2 Short term joint staff events and 2 Short term exchanges of groups of pupils) 1.Preliminary training for teachers (Brindisi, Italy) 2. Green energy and enviroment pollution /RO 3. New Methods of teaching Science by the STEM modules of Guide for Green Energy/TR 4. Water energy, hydropower and how to reduce water pollution/ North Macedonia The activities have consisted of lectures, videos, presentations, theoretical and practical information. Our students have been involved in understanding enviromental issues first in their countries and after that they have compared different situations. They have shared their researches and studies with their European schoolmates. They researched scientific reality of natural and renewable energy resources and have considered STEM education in modern society; thanks to online source they have studied how to build power generators, have seen examples lesson plans, discussed about practical activities; practical workshop; methods of evaluation in teaching STEM extracurricular activities and had feedback with discussions and questionnaires.

Impact

Our results have been the following: A shared website, esep project; project logo, echomascotte, a Guide to Green Energy (theoretical information and guidelines for practical lessons and activities about natural resources of energy and how to use them); a video about machines designed by students that can generate electricity from renewable sources ( models built by pupils guided by teachers): a scientific Magazine, a collection of articles and studies related to the environment and to the their studies of pollution, climate change and ecological future using renewable energies, on production of fuel, hardboard, natural glue from agricultural waste, about natural /green energy: sunlight, water, waves, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal and bioenergy. They also have made scientific Magazine presentation about analysis of natural energy used in each country, scientific studies on pollution, how to clean the water of the seas and oceans. (expecially related to Brindisi Natural Reserve Torre Guaceto) - a list of step-by-step practical activities for STEM education for students - knowledge of teaching green energy, awareness of methods and resources - teaching skills for the participants - ability to organize practical workshop
