The project was designed with the aim of raising greater awareness of environmental issues and encouraging students to adopt a critical and responsible attitude toward the planet. It sought to foster a more balanced relationship between humans and nature, emphasizing both the duty to protect natural resources and the right to live in a healthy ecosystem. The connection between the environment, local territory, and cultural heritage was highlighted, with the belief that building an “eco-future” begins with rediscovering and respecting one’s roots. The project also aimed to promote education for the common good through activities that encouraged cooperation, collective responsibility, and active civic engagement. Lastly, it focused on improving the teaching of scientific subjects by strengthening teachers' methodological skills and increasing student engagement and achievement in STEM disciplines.

Throughout the project, several activities were carried out with the aim of raising environmental awareness and improving the educational approach to science teaching. Training sessions were organized for teachers, focusing on innovative methodologies for science education. At the same time, lessons for students were delivered on topics related to the environment and sustainability. The mobility experiences represented key moments to explore the connection between nature and local communities, with practical learning activities focused on the sea, the territory, and sustainable urban planning (“My Eco-City”). Two creative paths were also developed: the drafting of an eco-citizen vademecum and a creative recycling workshop. These activities encouraged active participation, collaborative work among partner schools, and the strengthening of key competences in scientific, civic, and environmental fields.

The project generated tangible results both in terms of education and civic awareness. Greater awareness was raised among students and teachers regarding environmental issues and climate change. An Eco-Citizen Vademecum was developed and disseminated, promoting daily best practices for active and responsible citizenship. Small-scale sustainable regeneration projects were designed and implemented within local communities, as exemplified by the activity “Home - School - Territory: My Eco-City.” Partner schools increased their number of inclusive initiatives, also involving students with fewer opportunities. Furthermore, an improvement in interest and performance in scientific subjects - particularly environmental science - was observed, thanks to the integration of dedicated environmental education modules into the school curricula.
