In line with the principles of Universal Design for Learning, Education 4.0, inclusive pedagogy, and co-learning, UNITE proposes sustainable and inclusive digital resources. To this end, four WPs have been designed: 1)I-TEACH creates innovative digital tools; 2)AWARE improves awareness of diversity and inclusion; 3)DONE facilitates the use of AI for students from all backgrounds; and 4)GUIDANCE produces and shares good practices for a high-performing digital and inclusive education ecosystem.

UNITE will develop podcasts, virtual laboratories, and innovative digital apps to respond to technological changes. Training activities will be co-designed and delivered and validated with the aim to improve the university community’s awareness of students’ diverse circumstances due to gender, sexual orientation, ability, racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Roundtables will be held to design and establish good practices to be shared within HEIs for high-quality and inclusive education.

UNITE tangible results: (i) sustainable digital tools for inclusive and innovative education; (ii) methods for assessing the opportunities of digital technologies in tracking barriers in education; (iii) good practices to be shared within HEIs for inclusive pedagogies and high-quality education; (iv) development of community awareness of diversity and inclusion; and (v) staff and students co-learning. UNITE will produce a critical framework for the ethical integration of AI in higher education.
