D*ESS project trains teaching staff and students to promote inclusion and transformation in European higher education by creating a transnational teacher training program and guidelines on Design Inclusiveness in Art & Design Academies. Through innovative teaching formats and joint assessment methods, D*ESS activates training strategies to engage with design for disability, involving stakeholders with expertise in policies and advocacy of inclusion and disabilities to develop its strategies.
โถActivities
D*ESS implements a Teacher Training on Design Inclusiveness covering EU legislation, strategies for needs identification, product, interior and social design for people with disabilities. Supported by partners and local organisations with deep expertise, a Summer School Program will involve students and communities. Peer-reviews and assessments precedes the compiling of design Guidelines for HED. In-reach and outreach events will be held in Milan, Riga, Vilnius, also in virtual mode.

A digital learning catalogue of at least 8 modules, connecting trainers and participants; a transnational program of Summer Schools and design Guidelines for Inclusiveness in HED Systems will be published. A Video Gallery of highly representative videos on situated Design Inclusiveness practices. A website with a project brand identity, representative of values and competences with accessibility particularly to an audience of people with disabilities. Curricular programs integrated with D*ESS.
