Objectives

Chances to succeed at school can be increased before the child starts attending school. By observing and timely noticing problematic areas (which can be done via the online assessment tool developed within the project DAP-2) and by purposefully working with these areas (which can be done using the Exercise Book created within the new project), preschool teachers and parents will help minimise the risks of learning disadvantages/dyslexia that these children might be faced with at an older age.

Activities

- Comparative analysis of the situation in and beyond partner countries (scientific literature, surveying of preschool teachers and parents; previous topic-related projects); - Writing the justification and description of the DAP-2; - Creation of the online assessment tool, LTTA and local trainings; - Screening of at least 300 children (normally 4-5 y/o); - Creation of the Exercise Book, digitalisation of a part of the Ex. Book; - Piloting of the Ex.Book by teachers and parents.

Impact

- Textual material 'DAP-2: Justification and structure' to be used by the project team and general public; - Online assessment tool to be easily used by preschool teachers and parents to assess very young children and identify the ones that need additional support in any of the areas important for the future learning process (dyslexia in particular); - Exercise Book (paper form, E-book, digitalised version) to train skills in the selected areas; - All materials in EN, LV, BG, RO, and TR.
