Increase the skills in green environment

This project was implemented to strengthen international cooperation between horticultural schools in different European countries, to strengthen their capacity and the prestige of agricultural education, and to promote the involvement of young people in agricultural production. In many European countries, vocational education lacks advanced professional teaching literature, therefore, within the framework of the project, vocational subject teachers developed teaching materials on current topics in the horticultural sector. An important component of the project was the professional development of horticultural teachers on current events in the sector, innovations, the use of new teaching methods, and cooperation with various industry companies, as teachers have limited opportunities for professional development in their own countries. Within the framework of the project, learners had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills by actively participating in learning activities on the impact of climate change on plant growing, organic plant growing, and innovations in the sector, so that young people would be competitive in the European labor market.

1. To acquire new green skills for the development of a sustainable industry, which extends professional development in horticulture and landscape gardening for both educators and students. 2. To develop teaching material with pictures, in English and Plant names Latin that could be used in teaching horticulture and landscape gardening in educational institutions in the member countries and in other European agricultural and horticultural schools.

The project implemented 4 teacher activities (TM1-TM 4) to develop teaching materials and implement professional development for teachers. TM-1 Project coordinators meeting, documentation and regulation work. TM-2 Teacher meetings - International project coordinators meeting, project promotion. TM-3 International project coordinators meeting, work on developing teaching material. TM-4 Last Teacher meeting- completion of documents, results, publications and other materials. And 6 learning, training and practical training activities (C1-C6) were organized on topical and innovative topics for various sectors C-1 Green way in Provence/ Cycling, visiting gardens and looking for the adaption of mediterranean climate. C-2 Establishment of an ecological garden. C-3 Organic garden design creating landscapes plans in computer and creating a topiary . C-4 Hedges and fruit tree espaliers Cordon with fruit trees. C-5 Installation and maintenance of lawns/ Mechanical tools, different tips of grasses. C-6 Installation of a roof garden and bee garden creation.

1.) 4 teacher activities and 6 student and teacher activities were implemented. In each project partner organization, teachers prepared an activity on a specific topic with theoretical and practical lessons. And a total of 192 teacher and student mobilities were implemented. 2.) Project participants were given the opportunity to acquire and improve green skills in learning activities (C1-C6), strengthen theoretical knowledge, and broaden their perspective on the industry by visiting various companies in the field of horticulture and landscape gardening. 3.) Teachers received professional development both in activities and in international teamwork, developing teaching material with a theoretical description of the topic of their activity. 4.) This teaching material is available and will be distributed digitally (https://heyzine.com/flip-book/421df748ef.html )There for providing greater access to other European horticulture schools, a printed format was also created and will be distributed to the partner schools involved in the project. 5.) Representatives from each partner organization created presentations and publications that were shared in their schools, on the school’s social media and on the school’s website.
