▶Objectives
Life at sea has number of challenges for seafarers due to many attributes attached to it. Seafarers avarage working time at sea is less than 5 years for several reasons which is not cost effective considering the time and money invested into seafarers education, training ad certification. Sea4SHORE project will work towards integrating those seafarers to shore based occupations which has a lack of 'sea experienced' personell through research into such occupations via innovative online platform.
▶Impact
The main project results and outcomes are an online and novel platform presenting a competence map and a tool guiding seafarers to transition into shore career in maritime sector. It will include: 1) A competency map and job profiles 2) Awareness Platform 3) An online tool to be used by seafarer that will help them integrate shore positions. This will be presented in a online platform that will be accessible via an internet connection.
