โ–ถObjectives

In 2023 AS setup the Professional Advisory Prevention Team (PAPT). The department offers advisory services particularly those related to behaviour of concern, and relationships and sexuality, training sessions on relationships and sexuality, Individual sessions with persons with persons with disability re sex and relationships, and info session on the same areas. In fact, this department took the lead in the project implementation. Through its own steam and with the aid of this project this team benefited from the TTT accredited course created and the corresponding toolkit, and as a result now offers improved services to PWD. The improved capacity resulting from the project is not only related to this department. Various other Agency departments and persons form education also benefited from this training, hence increasing the target audience outside the Agency staff. Throughout the lifespan of the project PAPT staff, initiated training to third parties on the area sex and disability. Their accreditation through this course ensured their readiness and authority to deliver such training.

โ–ถActivities

All the planned activities were carried out successfully. The project wanted to create an accredited training and a toolkit that would be used in the delivery of sessions on sex and relationships with PWD. These were created successfully. Furter to this, the project also procured an assessment tool to be used with PWD. During project implementation it became clear that this was needed in order to assess the training needs of a PWD. This gave structure to ensure the best service to the PWD to best reach Obj 3 & 4. Once the project activities were completed, we felt that it was very important to properly disseminate the result of the project, hence a conference was organised inviting local stakeholders to understand the learning that took place from this project, and a panel discussion to understand the impact of sex and relationships on the lives of person with disability. The event shed light on the national situation, the positive interventions made through this project and also created a positive networking opportunity for persons interested in the area.
