โถObjectives
The overall objective of the Micromobi project was to develop skills and raise awareness on the topic of micromobility, small human or electric powered mobility devices suitable for short urban trips, in the partner countries Malta, Cyprus, Italy and Slovenia. The main priority we addressed through this project was to contribute to more environmentally friendly cities and fight against climate change, as increased uptake of micromobility is a key tool to reduce carbon emissions from transport.
โถActivities
The following project activities were implemented in the project: Research on information, best practices and case studies on the topic of micromobility, for capacity building: this resulted in the LTTA training activity in Ljubljana in June 2024, and the development of the Toolkit and the Case Study on Ljubljana. Delivery of Skills workshops addressing the needs of vulnerable road users, on micromobility use and safe road practices. In each of the four partner countries, at least four workshops were delivered. Creation of an Online Learning Platform with interactive resources and tools, available on www.micromobi.eu, providing access to learning materials and resources for people interested to learn more about micromobility. Development of a Communication Strategy and implementation of an Awareness Raising Campaign on micromobility and road safety.
โถImpact
Through the LTTA, 10 people were trained and gained in-depth knowledge about micromobility, sustainable mobility and urban planning, to build capacity and share this knowledge in their own countries. The results of the research on best practices was shared more widely through the dissemination of the Toolkit online, as well as a dedicated Case Study on Ljubljana. In the four partner countries, in total 24 workshops were delivered throughout the lifetime of the project, reaching 419 participants. The Online Learning Platform www.micromobi.eu brings together all the key outputs from the project including videos, infographics, interactive quizzes, the toolkit, case study about Ljubljana, and the map with good & bad practices, as well as links to the materials developed for the awareness raising campaign and blog posts written about the project. Nearly 500 unique users have accessed the platform so far. The Communication Strategy informed the Awareness Raising Campaign, which reached over 500,000 people. A survey was developed in the beginning of the project to inform the Communication Strategy.
