1. We wanted to improve our students' understanding & application of STEAM concepts. Our goal was to foster a deeper engagement with these subjects by providing hands-on learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity & problem-solving skills. 2. We sought to empower our educators with the knowledge, skills & resources needed to effectively teach STEAM subjects. 3. We want to develop & integrate a STEAM-focused curriculum that is both engaging & relevant to the needs of our students. We want to create a curriculum that not only aligns with current educational standards but also prepares students for future academic & career opportunities in STEAM fields. 4. Through collaboration with our partners we aim to build strong, lasting relationships that would facilitate the exchange of ideas & best practices. 5. We aim to make learning more exciting & relevant by integrating real-world STEAM challenges into our teaching. 6. We want to ensure that our students are well-prepared for the future by equipping them with essential 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, communication creativity, & digital literacy. 7. We aim to involve our wider school community, including parents, in the educational process.
▶Activities
1.We conducted workshops focused on STEAM education, where teachers learned innovative methods. 2.Teachers had the opportunity to visit partner schools to observe best practices & participate in joint lesson planning. 3.Students engaged in practical cross-curricular experiments, focusing on real-world problems to encourage critical thinking & collaboration. 4.We implemented projects that combined mathematics with technology, such as coding & robotics challenges. 5.During mobilities, students shared their local STEAM-related knowledge with participants of partner countries. 6.We organised events where students, parents & community members could participate in STEAM activities together. 7.We held exhibitions during STEAM Days where students presented their work to the wider community. 8.We worked on integrating STEAM principles into our curriculum. This included developing new lesson plans & incorporating project-based learning. 9.Feedback sessions with our partners were held to improve our approach, & see that the objectives were met effectively. 10.We documented & shared the successful strategies of our project. 11.We bought equipment to help implement our project & got funding for a STEAM MakerSpace via Esplora Funding.
▶Impact
1. Students exhibited improved skills in STEAM subjects, showing greater engagement & enthusiasm. The project’s hands -on activities fostered critical thinking, problem-solving & collaborative skills, leading to better academic performance (see Quantitative Results folder). 2. Our educators benefited from professional development opportunities, including workshops & seminars on innovative STEAM teaching strategies. This training has enabled them to implement new methodologies in their classrooms. 3. The project resulted in the development of comprehensive STEAM curriculum tailored to our students’ needs. 4. We are building a STEAM Maker-Space in our school, funded by Esplora. 5. Collaborations with partner schools enriched our educational practices. Joint projects promoted cross-cultural understanding & allowed students & teachers to engage in global learning experiences. 6. The project included STEAM Days & exhibitions that actively involved parents & the local community. These events showcased student achievements. 7. We integrated new technologies & resources to enhance the learning environment. These improvements have created a more dynamic & interactive space for STEAM education, benefiting both students & teachers.
