Objectives

The project aims to promote AR as medium children can use to create and share their own stories as part of their language learning experience. The project will study the use of AR in schools and develop technical and pedagogical training for teachers. This will enable teachers to integrate the use of AR in language learning classes. The results emerging from the testing and evaluation will allow us to gauge the project's impact and disseminate findings to contribute to this research field.

Activities

Teachers, academics and technologists from the European countries of Malta, Spain and Cyprus will carry out the activities. These partners will engage collaboratively in the development of teacher training that will entail using lesson plans, exemplar stories and AR assets. This training will enable school teachers to facilitate the use of AR by children in language-learning classes. To assess the project impact, the methodology will include questionnaires for both teachers and students.

Impact

The project will result in a comprehensive teacher training programme addressing technical and pedagogical aspects necessary for promoting the use of AR by children in language learning classes. Consequently, we expect evaluation results to indicate a positive integration effort by teachers and evidence to support the hypothesis that the use of AR by children contributes to enriching their learning experience. Ultimately the project results will be disseminated to the wider community.
