βΆObjectives
Our project aimed to fill a key gap in peace education. In many schools, peace is taught mainly through pastoral care, emphasizing values and interpersonal skills, while traditional subjects like history, economics, and social sciences focus on conflict, competition, and violence. Existing peace education materials are often abstract or present peacebuilders as extraordinary figures, making practical lessons seem unattainable. We wanted to show students that building peace is relevant and actionable in everyday life. By introducing a relatable, previously unknown hero, we explored concepts like critical thinking, conflict resolution, human unity, idealism, identity formation, and living oneβs values. Her story was presented through comics and visual media, integrated with classroom and extracurricular activities. The goal was to combine education, storytelling, and art across borders, connecting students with European cooperation and peacebuilding, while testing and refining innovative methods for wider application through Erasmus+.
