Objectives

In this Year of Skills 2023, FabConnectHer can unlock the potential of Fab Labs to address the gender gap in STEAM fields by providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment with innovative education pathways that encourage women (and those who teach them) to explore and experiment with digital fabrication and technology in an enabling environment for greater diversity and inclusion.

Activities

By creating a project that focuses on providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment within a Fab Lab, we aim to empower future female innovators to pursue careers in STEAM fields and unlock their full potential. Mentoring and a Connected Educators Forum give a 360 degree innovation in VET formula for much needed advancement in area with many needs studies and reports, but not enough action.

Impact

The development of this application highlighted that we are all coming up with good but singular approaches, and we lack an overall framework. FabConnectHer will deliver incremental progress that crosses differing ages and motivations of girls and women, be that in a career in STEAM to starting a business. We utilsie the power of mentoring as an enabler, and for the first time, can connect as Fab Lab educators across Europe in a structured way.
