Circulation from soil to food and back to soil

The projects objectives were: * Children in our kindergartens have experience in producing different types of food (grow their own vegetables, make jam, lemonade, soup etc out of available fruits and vegetables) * Children in our kindergartens know how to reduce food waste (weigh food waste to get a reduction over time, pack suitable boxes for lunch, and finish what we have packed) * Children in our kindergartens are familiar with the circulation from soil to food and back to soil. (compost/make new soil out of peels and food waste and then grow new vegetables from the soil, sustainable water-systems through use of rainwater) * Children in our kindergartens have knowledge of the bees importance in the worlds food supply. (study bee-hives, teach abour pollination, how bees are important to vegetables, make candles out of wax, taste honey)

Melby kindergarten: Make a vegetable garden, a greenhouse, composting and watertanks Istanbul Ticarat Odasi Bilimi ve Sanat Merkezi Anaoukulu: Greenhouse classroom with rainwater collecting system Måsan kindergarten: Makeing a vegetables garden Kindergarten Ano Meras Folegandrou: Bee and green yard Mobility to Norway for joint planningday - Greece and Turky Joint planning-day, all 4 partners in Norway We decided to have spesific collaboration on activities about "Planting radish seeds" "What are we doing with dandylions", "Composting and reducing food waste", "Harvesting" and Food festival 3-7 juni". The spesific outcomes of these collaborations are shown on Etwinning together with the general outcome and result of all the activities in the project.

We completed all activities as planned, but the partners may have spent different amounts of time on the different activities. All partners have planted their own vegetables and made vegetable-gardens. All partners have made or extended greenhouses, to be able to grow our own vegetables at extended periods of the year due to different climate challenges (drought, wind and cold weather). We have all taught the children about the bees importance in nature, but Ano Meras in Folegandros has worked the most with this topic and shared their experiences, since they have their own hives and collaboration with a bee-keeper. The other partners have told and shown their kids how they do it in Folegandros. Every month we have shared our activities in a monthly newsletter, posted on the projects Facobook-page and on etwinning, visible to all interested target groups. Joint planning day in Norway was very useful, to meet all partners so early in the project to plan, and be more spesific on the areas in our application with the lowest score. We decided on what spesific activities we would do together at the same time, or in the same way but at different times due to the climate differences in our regions.
