▶Objectives
Refugees and immigrants are equal members of our societies and, like all other citizens, must contribute to the good development of local communities. For most people, mastering the Norwegian/Danish language will be a prerequisite for experiencing themselves as a full member of the local community. Language skills increase the possibility of getting an education / ordinary work. In the project, we look at how we can provide good language training to newly arrived refugees and migrants aged 6-12
▶Activities
We will have four teacher meetings with defined issues related to second language pedagogy. We will have two leadership meetings where we focus on the management of the project in particular and the management of second language teaching in general. We will have intermediate work based on these issues. We will establish a joint team group where we gather "everything" we do in the project, and we will prepare a final report with conclusions about what we have learned along the way.
▶Impact
We expect to find some answers to questions: 1) How can we benefit from the students' overall language skills in the training? 2) How can we do basic literacy training when Danish/Norwegian is a second language? 3) How can we conduct good education for students who have not attended school before? 4) How can we conduct good education for students with adequate school backgrounds? 5) How to differentiate inside the multilingual student group? 6) The school's facilitation of language learning?
