▶Objectives
Throughout the project, the aim was to focus on three main areas: 1) Increase practical competence in aquaponics by designing and building an aquaponics facility at Val schools. 2) Development of plans for training in aquaponics at upper secondary school level. 3) Identify possible partners for a larger project consortium, with the aim of applying for a Erasmus+ collaborative project within the circular economy.
▶Activities
Through a small scale partnership project, Val skoler and Campus Roslagen wanted to increase their competence in aquaponics as a sustainable and circular economic food production. The partner schools sees this as an important part of the green transition, where there will be a crucial need for a more sustainable and circular based industry in the very near future. If we are to reach the climate targets that have been set, our experience as educational institutions is that there needs to be a skills-based attitude change at both company and personal level. Here we believe it is wise to be able to reach out to young people, as tomorrow's managers, employees and business owners/managers.
