▶Objectives
The DialogEduShift project aimed to address the challenges posed by AI language models, such as ChatGPT, in higher education. The project sought to empower academic educators with the skills and knowledge to integrate AI tools responsibly into teaching and assessment. It aimed to enhance the quality of education through personalized learning, develop a framework for evaluating the effectiveness and ethics of AI tools, and strengthen digital readiness and resilience within higher education institutions. Additionally, the project intended to provide practical guidelines, training, and resources to support educators in navigating the emerging challenges of AI in the classroom.
▶Activities
The DialogEduShift project implemented several activities across its work packages. In WP2, research was conducted to identify the challenges academic educators faced when using AI-generated text. WP3 developed practical guidelines on the responsible use of AI tools in teaching and assessment. WP4 created a comprehensive course for academic educators, incorporating newsletters, explainer videos, crowdsourced resources, and classroom policies to facilitate knowledge transfer. WP5 organized dissemination activities, including multiplier events and workshops, to share project results with other higher education institutions and promote best practices. Additionally, the consortium held regular coordination meetings and maintained a shared Microsoft Teams channel to ensure smooth communication and collaboration among partners. 3 transnational partners meetings were held. Dissemination leader prepared dissemination plan and final dissemination report. All partners conducted multiplayer events. 4 newsletters in national languages and press release were prepared by project consortium.
▶Impact
The DialogEduShift project produced several concrete outputs. In WP2, research was conducted to identify the challenges academic educators faced when using AI-generated text. WP3 produced guidelines that clarified the capabilities and limitations of generative AI and provided educators with a reference for teaching and assessment. WP4 developed a course for academic educators, using newsletters, explainer videos, and crowdsourced resources to disseminate knowledge widely. WP5 organized multiplier events and workshops to share the project’s outputs with other higher education institutions.
