Objectives

General objective of this project is to improve access to health care services for people with ASD of all ages. The fulfilment of the project objective can be achieved by enabling healthcare professionals to develop and improve their knowledge and skills in working with patients with ASD. By providing them with appropriate skills, knowledge, effective strategies and appropriate training, we will help them understand and identify ways to enable patients with ASD to access medical treatments.

Activities

1. To identify the gaps, good practices and areas for development in terms of provision of appropriate healthcare services to patients with ASD; 2. To develop a Training program for healthcare professionals, providing them with skills and strategies to help individuals with ASD overcome barriers that they may experience during their visit to healthcare facilities; 3. To share the materials and training programme with stakeholders and make recommendations to national policymakers across Europe

Impact

1. The “HeAlth” model training programme and materials with practical strategies for healthcare professionals. 2. An open access Digital Toolkit on the e-learning platform to facilitate all the developed materials and training programme 3. The Train the trainers event of health professionals (nurses, paediatricians, dentists, internists, GPs etc.) to validate the content of the training and effectiveness of the Digital Toolkit
