Objectives

E-STORIES aims to achieve the objectives below: -enhance international university students’ language use skills, more specifically productive skills of speaking and writing in the host language, -improve their storytelling skills and empower them as writers of their own stories, -foster their digital competence and digital literacy, -encourage their creativity and creative writing, -promote their intercultural competence and awareness, -maximise professional competences of language educators.

Activities

E-STORIES focuses on tasks and activities, primarily for migrant/ international students in HEIs and, secondarily, for their language educators: 1. A 8-week innovative course design incorporating digital storytelling, language education and social integration, 2. Turning this instructional design into an 8-module online course on a free, open-source learning platform, 3. Developing a language educators’ guidebook in e-book format, 4. Publishing e-books of students’ stories/digital stories.

Impact

Through E-STORIES, the consortium expects to achieve gains in the international university students' levels of language competence, digital competence, and digital literacy, intercultural awareness, communicative competence and creativity by putting forward an enriching and complementary educational intervention with a multidisciplinary approach, and presents it in an open access methodology with different forms of education, both face-to-face and online, training and creative solutions.
