▶Objectives
The objectives we would like to achieve by implementing this project are: - To promote transnational exchanges and share knowledge on deaf awareness-raising among the deaf trainers fromEmpoway, Fondatsiya Zaslushai Se (Listen Up Foundation), Associação Portuguesa de Surdos, and LIS 360°; - To develop innovative deaf awareness-raising workshop materials and videos; - To ensure that non-deaf people get a real understanding of deaf people's realities.
▶Activities
1. Transnational meeting in Lisboa, Portugal: development of deaf awareness materials and videos. 2. Transnational meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria: conduction of a test workshop to hearing people and adaptation of the workshop materials based on their feedback as well as development of 5 videos in International Sign on topics related to deaf awareness-raising. 3. Final phase: organisation of test workshops in each country (Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal and Italy).
▶Impact
The results we expect to achieve are: - Creation of a sustainable network of adult education organisations from Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal and Italy that are active in the field of deaf awareness raising; - The partner organisations are providing a high-quality deaf awareness workshops in their respective countries and at the European level; - The deaf awareness-raising videos in International Sign are shared and used by other (deaf) trainers in their workshops.
