▶Objectives
The main objective of the D-TEACH project was to strengthen the digital pedagogical competences of trainers by enabling them to effectively use educational applications for the creation of interactive and meaningful learning content. The project aimed to move beyond theoretical knowledge and provide trainers with practical, hands-on experience in digital content creation. To achieve this general objective, the project set the following specific objectives: to identify and select six educational applications that respond to trainers’ real interests and everyday teaching needs; to develop an Experiential Learning Guide for each selected application; to transform these guides into interactive learning resources using the applications themselves; and to test the developed materials with trainers in order to ensure their quality, relevance and usability. Through these objectives, the project achieved to promote learner-centred, experiential and digitally enhanced teaching approaches in vocational and adult education. At the same time, it aimed to support trainers’ continuous professional development and contribute to the digital transformation of education in line with European priorities.
▶Activities
The D-TEACH project was developed in response to a shared need identified by all partner organisations through their work with trainers in vocational and adult education. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, many trainers lacked practical skills in creating interactive digital content. Although awareness of digital tools had increased, their pedagogical use often remained limited to basic or static formats. The rapid expansion of online and hybrid learning highlighted the need for trainers to be better prepared to design engaging, learner-centred and accessible digital materials. This need is also reflected in European policy frameworks such as the Digital Education Action Plan and DigCompEdu. The project addressed the lack of hands-on, practice-oriented training for trainers and the gap between theoretical knowledge of digital tools and their effective application in teaching. Through transnational cooperation between partners from Bulgaria, Spain and Italy, D-TEACH managed to develop experiential learning resources tailored to trainers’ real needs. By doing so, the project supported the digital transformation of VET and adult education and contributed to improving the quality and relevance of teaching practices.
