PreWorks is dedicated to the prevention of sexually transgressive behaviour (STB) in the field of youth work. We will develop a group prevention intervention to address STB with a focus on gender diversity and equality, and sexual well-being. We aim to empower youth workers and non-formal youth educators to face the youth’s needs of a better understanding regarding sexual well-being in relationships between all genders and the detrimental effects of STBs.

We will develop an intervention for youths (PreWorks) based on research and a co-creation process with stakeholders. We will then develop a training program for youth workers, equipping them with the necessary tools to implement the intervention. Both the intervention and the training program will be tested in a pilot implementation. Dissemination efforts will address a network of partners to promote the sustainable use of our intervention.

PreWorks envisions a society in which young people and youth workers confidently embrace sexual well-being in relationships. They work together to create a society characterised by the perception of diversity as the norm, especially regarding gender identity, gender attraction, and gender expression. We expect PreWorks to increase knowledge about how to foster positive and healthy sexual relationships, to challenge dominant stereotypes and contribute to gender equality.
