โถObjectives
1) The development of questionnaires for educators for the detection and differentiation of pre-school and school-age children (4-9 years old) with Language and/or Literacy Disorders from those with language differences (from linguistically diverse backgrounds) in a multilingual setting, 2) The development of a handbook addressing good educational practices for bi-/multilingual children, along with supportive teaching materials for language/literacy enhancement of those with LLDs.
โถActivities
Activity 1: Project management Activity 2: Kick-off meeting - research and methodology framework (literature review, administration and analysis of a survey questionnaire, report on the results) Activity 3: Development of two questionnaires (plus manual) for the detection of LLDs in multilingual contexts and a handbook with good educational practices Activity 4: Dissemination of the project (website/social media channels, one-day conference, three webinars, articles) and final meeting
โถImpact
First, it will impact the primary target groups, i.e. educators working with bi-/multilingual children, by acquiring new skills and evidence-based practices in their daily work, as well as secondary target groups, i.e. bi-/multilingual children with LLDs and their families, by receiving proper services. It will also strengthen the research activity of the three organisations and enhance University students' knowledge about LLDs, which can be transferred to various professionals in the field.
