Objectives

The main objectives of the project were to develop high-quality materials based on non-formal education, focusing on the digital skills of unemployed adults from rural areas. The core idea of RuralTech was to develop: - A RuralTech Guide outlining basic digital competencies to train these adults, thereby improving their employability prospects while contributing to talent retention in rural areas and the modernization of traditional occupations in these settings. - Testing the digital skills training with this group through an online format, allowing them to become familiar with the topic while gathering their feedback to assess the impact of the developed content. - Equipping trainers of these adult learners, both from partner organizations and other local organizations, with these resources to ensure the project's sustainability.

Activities

All the activities outlined in the initial RuralTech proposal have been successfully implemented. First, we held the project's kickoff meeting at the Fundación Sieneva headquarters in Granada, attended by two technicians from Semper Avanti on May 23 and 24, 2024. During the meeting, the project objectives were discussed, along with a review of the partnership agreement, the timeline, and the division of tasks among the partners. Additionally, the RuralTech Guide was developed collaboratively by both partners and translated into Polish, Spanish, and English. Following this, an online course on digital skills was designed and uploaded to Fundación Sieneva’s online training platform, where a total of 20 participants (10 per partner organization) and 2 trainers were registered. Finally, after the online course concluded, each partner organization hosted an online seminar. These seminars included unemployed adult learners from rural areas, key stakeholders such as job placement organizations, NGO representatives, and other trainers.
