▶Objectives
The main objective of the Breaking Digital Boundaries project was to promote social inclusion and combat discrimination against migrants and refugees through creative digital methods. We aimed to empower adult migrants to express their personal stories using tools like video, posters, and social media campaigns. Additionally, we sought to strengthen the digital and intercultural competencies of adult educators, raise awareness among the wider public, and influence policies related to inclusion and migration. By fostering empathy, collaboration, and understanding, we wanted to build more inclusive, respectful, and informed communities across Europe.
▶Activities
We implemented a series of interrelated activities across France, Lithuania, and Türkiye. The project began with a transnational project meeting (TPM) in Lithuania to align goals and plan activities. Each partner then conducted a needs analysis to identify key challenges related to discrimination and digital literacy among migrants and educators. This was followed by a storytelling workshop in France and a learning-training event in Türkiye where adult participants learned to create digital stories, music videos, and posters, often using tools like Canva and Padlet. To maximize outreach, we coordinated a social media campaign using the co-created content, promoting empathy and awareness online. The project concluded with a final conference in Lithuania, where results were presented to policymakers, educators, NGOs, and the public. Throughout the project, we held regular partner meetings, produced newsletters, and shared all outputs openly to ensure sustainability and public access.
