The main objective of our ETHICS project was for our students to DEVELOP A COMMON SET OF COMPETENCIES (core competencies and transversal skills, our main priority), all of them being part of the Key competencies defined by the European Parliament as essential for lifelong learning. Developing their skills and competencies helped them to become more self-confident and plan an ambitious future. The other objective, linked to priorities "Inclusion and diversity" and "Participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement", especially for the part "Common values" was FOSTER TOLERANCE, which means: - Develop open-mindedness of our students -Foster a sense of inclusion among the members of our educational community (students, teachers, parents, etc.). That's why we chose a topic inspired by the European motto “United in Diversity” about EUROPEAN VALUES to develop their feeling of being part of a group (of a school, of a country, of Europe). We wanted them to understand that the EU has been built on a shared basis, as emphasised in the Treaty of Lisbon, with a common cultural heritage.

We implemented seven common activities: three virtual activities, two physical activities, and two activities to create common exhibitions. A1 (Creation and choice of a common logo): helped students to get involved in the project and feel a rightful member of it. A2 (European Common Culture Exhibition): Each school participated in creating posters for a common exhibition to acquire knowledge about European foundations and the origins of their values. A3 (Writing of the song): students collaborated to write the lyrics of a common song about European values. A4 (Performing of the Song): in Croatia, they practised together to sing this common song during an event. A5 (Values in Sports Exhibition): Each school participated in creating posters to describe the implementation of European values in Sports. A6 (Values in sports and day-to-day life): Students discussed their positive experiences with implementing values in sports, day-to-day life, and Erasmus+ projects. A7 (Inclusive sports competition): sports in mixed groups: Croatian, French, disabled students and adults.

OUTCOMES: -> Progress in the acquisition of skills and competencies: Through the activities, we measured and observed improvements at several levels: Teamwork, the drive to do research, to read, English language (written and oral communication), and digital competencies. -> Positive evolution in the knowledge of the European common culture, at the origin of the European values (we will focus on Human Rights, Human Dignity, Equality and Freedom) measured by comparing the answers of two questionnaires. → Positive evolution of tolerance and the inclusion feeling measured by comparing the answers to questionnaires. PRODUCTIONS -> A committed common song, written by students and inspired by European values, performed during an event. -> Success in the organization of an event, an inclusive sports competition, as some values are shared by both sports and the European Union: Equality and respect, which also means fairness, inclusion, and freedom to practise. https://school-education.ec.europa.eu/en/etwinning/projects/ethics-explore-and-transmit-our-heritage-and-ideals-culture-and-sport/twinspace
