We wanted to make it easier for young people in rural areas, particularly pupils with learning difficulties, to access a European career pathway. To do this, we wanted to work with them to create a booklet of careers in digital and printed form. We wanted to enable the teenagers in these schools to understand their place as European citizens, to set up local actions and also to take part in European actions promoted by the institutions. We wanted to show them that they are as legitimate as any other EU citizen to take part in actions, travel around Europe, discover other cultures, work in another country... and vote when the time comes. We wanted to boost their self-esteem by having a concrete project that was both ambitious and motivating and realistic. We wanted to involve all the teaching teams in the classes concerned to enable the pupils to improve their skills in a cross-curricular way that would benefit the results of the project: reading, writing, counting, but also: structuring themselves in time and space, learning digital skills, developing European citizenship.

The main activities of the project were : - meeting a wide range of professionals to interview them in their workplaces and find out more about the diversity of working environments - learning how to create digital capsules and job descriptions using the interviews to place them on a website and in a printed booklet of careers. - find out about the cultural traditions of the partner country, make objects and meals, to gain a better understanding of their daily lives and to encourage curiosity when meeting them - bring together, virtually and face-to-face, teenagers from two very different countries, cultures and languages, to enable them to share their school and regional environments, to share their experiences of meeting professionals and conducting filmed interviews, and to practise speaking in front of an audience - sometimes in English. - experience festive events, such as Erasmus Days, to encourage personal and collective integration into European citizenship - talk to a Member of the European Parliament (for each country) and travel to Brussels to understand how Europe works through visits to the Parlamentarium and the Hemicycle, where MEPs work.

The concrete results are the publication of a booklet of careers in digital (website) and printed (booklet) formats. Other results include : - improvement in key skills for a majority of pupils, depending on the subject. We identified this as the project progressed, - Improved language skills and motivation, with a desire to improve their level of English and a desire to learn another language, - the installation and consolidation of digital skills in various areas: communication, word processing, use of new software, etc. - the creation of a network of professionals, visible on the careers booklets, which will be enriched by the pupils of the following classes and made visible in dedicated structures - increasing pupils' knowledge of European institutions and democratic principles - opening up cultural horizons for pupils, with a special mention for 8 pupils who have a mobility project in the partner country - participation in European visibility for other young people through feedback events or festive events to which they have been invited
