▶Objectives
The project "Let's Talk About Living Cultures" will address various themes related to the cultural, artistic, and linguistic heritage of each country, but will particularly emphasize art as a tool for promoting regional languages. The ambassadors of Paiporta and Nouméa will work together to consider a broader use and preservation of their regional languages in an educational environment where criticisms are prevalent. Let regional languages cross borders!
▶Activities
Two years of partnership and four activities (project management, teacher training, and two mobility exchanges) will initially allow the New Caledonians to immerse themselves in the Spanish way of life. Then, the Spanish students will discover our Lapérouse high school and its unique characteristics within the Oceanian context. The creation of a pocket dictionary and participation in the creation of a Falla will be the outcomes of these two years of discovery and exchange.
▶Impact
The New Caledonians and Valencians, both students and teachers, will discover a nation facing similar issues, such as the preservation of regional languages. They will enrich each other by experiencing life with young Europeans, becoming more aware of cultural diversity, heritage, and the environment in Europe and the Pacific. They will share a common commitment and may find a different meaning in learning regional languages and cultures.
