Through this project, our aim was to contribute to the enhancement of vocational education and training in the field of waste management, with a particular focus on Croatia and Serbia, which represents the overall objective. We recognized the need to train personnel qualified to work in recycling yards and therefore set a specific objective to develop a high-quality, practice-oriented educational curriculum for the training of individuals in recycling yard management. In addition to the curriculum itself, we sought to ensure a modern and flexible approach to learning by developing digital tools that enable distance learning, thereby making the content more accessible to a wider group of users. Furthermore, the project aimed to strengthen the capacities of both the participating and external organizations by empowering professionals in vocational education and promoting the importance of sustainable waste management. In doing so, we strived to ensure the long-term sustainability of project outcomes and achieve a broader impact on society and the environment.

We successfully implemented a series of key activities. We began with an initial meeting that brought together all partners to establish a detailed activity plan and clearly define project objectives. This was followed by the development of a curriculum for recycling yard management, during which we created educational content tailored to the needs of the labour market. The first transnational mobility meeting was held, enabling the exchange of experiences and ideas with international partners. We introduced digital learning tools for the curriculum, thereby increasing the accessibility of educational materials and facilitating a modern, flexible approach to learning. A training session was organized for VET professionals, aimed at enhancing their competencies. The second transnational mobility meeting further strengthened collaboration among partners and provided an opportunity to evaluate progress made. A practical training module was conducted for a test group of learners, equipping them with the hands-on skills and experience required for successful labour market integration. Through the implementation of the project, we achieved tangible results and significant outputs. An innovative curriculum was developed, aimed at non-formal training of participants for the effective management of recycling yard operations. The curriculum was designed in accordance with labour market needs, providing practical competencies required for employment or self-employment in the recycling sector. To facilitate access to educational content, accompanying digital tools were created to enable online learning and flexible use of materials. This significantly improved the accessibility of non-formal education, particularly for participants in remote or underserved areas. The number of vocational education and training (VET) professionals was notably increased, both within partner organizations and beyond, through additional training and exchange of experiences throughout the project. Furthermore, the continuous collaboration among representatives of the three partner organizations strengthened their mutual partnership, enhanced cooperation, and laid a solid foundation for future joint projects and initiatives in the field of sustainability and waste management.
