Objectives

We implement a participatory performance ethnography involving disabled and non-disabled young people. With the research and the tools of the Theatre of the oppressed, we encourage the involved young people's activist actions in order to draw the attention of the players in the youth sector to their responsibility in the never-ending process of inclusion. We want to participate in the elimination of the ableist approach of youth work and we'll be part of creation of accessible youth programmes.

Activities

We involve 10 (30) young people with mixed abilities, who participate in 3 international trainings and regular group sessions every two weeks, approx. 26 times. They prepare a forum theater performance based on their lived experiences, which they perform 3 times per country for an audience of youth workers (60 people/country). During the1.5 years, the young people participate in a parallel PAR research, in which we explore the changes of the young people and the audience of the performance.

Impact

We involve 30 disabled and non-disabled young adult (age18-30) in a 1.5-year process consisting of 3 mobilities (ITC), 26 local group sessions, 1 parallel participatory research.1 summary pub. will be created from the group sessions, 3 forum theater performances are watched by 180 people in 3 countries. In the research we create 3 research plans and 3 reports (90 interviews with young people, diaries of young people, observation logs, 30 interviews with youth workers) 1 summary research paper.
