▶Objectives
This project aims to equip teachers and school staff in Malta and Ireland with Restorative Practices (RP) skills to tackle bullying, resolve conflict, and foster inclusive school environments. By training six Malta ABS staff and six Irish teachers as RP Trainers, we will build sustainable capacity to deliver RP training in schools, reaching thousands of students, teachers, and parents. The project will also upskill existing RP Trainers in Ireland, enhancing their expertise in anti-bullying strategies. Additionally, a 20-minute documentary will capture key learning, ensuring wider impact. This initiative strengthens cross-border collaboration, allowing CDI and Malta ABS to share best practices and refine RP approaches. It will create a lasting legacy by embedding RP in school cultures, reducing bullying, and promoting positive relationships. The project also serves as a pilot for future European expansion, validating RP as an effective approach to school well-being across different education systems
▶Activities
The Erasmus+ Restorative Practices (RP) in Schools project, in collaboration with Malta ABS, implemented activities to equip educators with RP skills, foster collaboration, and embed sustainable change. 1. Training RP Champions Newly qualified educators received intensive training to implement RP and train peers, creating a sustainable ripple effect. 2. Transnational Exchange Irish and Maltese partners participated in study visits and peer-learning workshops to adapt RP strategies across different contexts. 3. Capacity Building in Schools In-school workshops helped staff integrate RP into teaching and conflict resolution. RP Champions were trained to provide ongoing support. 4. Research & Evaluation Baseline and follow-up assessments measured RP’s impact on school climate, behaviour, and teacher confidence, supported by focus groups and reflective practice. 5.
