Objectives

The project aimed to equip young people (18-25) from disadvantaged backgrounds with essential financial literacy skills to improve their employability. It also sought to enhance VET and C-VET teachers' digital and emotional intelligence competencies to effectively teach financial education. Additionally, it promoted environmental awareness among VET teachers. By addressing these areas, the project aligned with labor market needs, ensuring that young people acquired crucial skills such as budgeting and expense management. It also fostered inclusion by targeting individuals who faced socio-economic barriers and learning difficulties. The digital transformation priority was integrated by providing teachers with updated digital skills and leveraging digital tools for financial education. The project delivered concrete outcomes, including a financial literacy toolkit, social media micro-learning content, training sessions, and dissemination activities, ensuring broad impact and sustainability.

Activities

Activity 1 developed the “Emotional Finance” Toolkit, including research on best practices, the creation of 7 training modules for VET teachers, 12 micro-learning videos for young people, and guidelines for financial education. The Toolkit was translated into the 3 partner languages, and a Kick-off Meeting was held in the Netherlands. Activity 2 consisted in a Learning/Teaching/Training Activity (LTTA) for VET trainers, that took place in Rome, consisting of an intensive three-day training. Trainers exchanged knowledge on the developed modules, used interactive digital tools, and participated in practical exercises and evaluations. Activity 3: a pilot test was conducted with young people, who attended training sessions and evaluated the Toolkit’s effectiveness. The final phase focused on dissemination, including 3 national webinars, an international event in Malta, and the distribution of the Toolkit to 404 stakeholders to ensure long-term impact.

Impact

During Activity 1, 6 best practices on financial education were identified, 7 training practices for VET teachers were developed, and 12 Training Pills for young people (18-25) were implemented and disseminated via social media. A set of guidelines on financial education and Toolkit usage was written, translated into Italian, Dutch, and Maltese. Additionally, a Kick-Off Meeting in Amsterdam launched the 'Emotional Finance' work. Activity 2 resulted in a three-day Learning Teaching Training Activity (LTTA) in Rome, where teachers were trained, Toolkit modules were evaluated, and a Focus Group discussed sustainability. Nine teachers from three partner organizations were trained, and three Toolkit evaluation reports were produced. The Toolkit was also distributed to 404 stakeholders, including 300 trainers. Activity 3 trained 91 young people through national pilot testing, leading to three national evaluation reports and one final report. The project organized three online dissemination events, a final in-person event with 87 participants (63 in person, 24 online), and a Final Meeting alongside the event to optimize resources. The Social Media dissemination reached over 46,000 people.
