Objectives

Through the implementation of the All for Everyone project, our main goal was to develop a concrete and replicable model to make the practice of Kundalini Yoga accessible to deaf people. Specifically, we aimed to: - Produce accessible educational materials, including videos, visual tools, and guidelines, designed to support the autonomous participation of deaf individuals in the practice of Kundalini Yoga. - Test and improve the proposed solutions through the direct involvement of the deaf community in pilot sessions, practical testing, and co-design activities. - Create a European network of good practices among partners with complementary expertise in education, yoga, and accessibility. - Raise awareness about the importance of inclusion in the field of wellness disciplines, demonstrating that accessibility is not only a right but also a value that enriches the experience for all practitioners. In short, we aimed to promote both cultural and practical change, so that the world of yoga can embrace a more inclusive vision—one that respects diversity and is attentive to the communicative and sensory needs of every individual.

Activities

We carried out a series of strategic and operational activities aimed at developing, testing and disseminating tools to make Kundalini Yoga accessible. These were: - the kick-off meeting to allow partners to get to know each other, present the project, define specific objectives and set a timetable; - a survey on knowledge of yoga in the deaf community to gain a more concrete understanding of how the practice of yoga is perceived and experienced within the deaf community and to analyse specific needs with regard to the practice of yoga; - the creation of accessible videos with LIS interpreters, subtitles and visual support tools (for breathing, mantras, relaxation), in addition to the first versions of the guidelines for accessible teaching; - two transnational face-to-face practice sessions with the yoga teacher in charge of the project, with the aim of practicing and creating the tools necessary for accessibility. - the testing and implementation to try out and improve the materials prepared through the organisation of pilot lessons in Bologna. - a final meeting to test a final practice and validate the objectives.

Impact

The concrete results of the project were: - the drafting of guidelines to make Kundalini Yoga teachings accessible, to be made available online on the project's dedicated page and endorsed and disseminated by KRI; - raising awareness and providing basic training to deaf people who participated in the project in order to set up an accessible environment for practicing Kundalini Yoga; - the creation of accessible videos of Kundalini Yoga practice in the sign language of each partner as well as in English, in order to provide material that could be used throughout the project but also for other people to watch and practice.
