Objectives

This Erasmus+ initiative aimed to design an educational framework that effectively integrates academic content with students’ passion for football, enhancing both engagement and relevance. The program’s core objective was to reduce dropout rates among young athletes by equipping them with practical knowledge and competencies applicable to professional roles in the sports industry. By incorporating digital tools, innovative teaching methods, and real-life scenarios, the project fostered active participation and boosted student motivation. A key focus was on strengthening cooperation between schools and sports organizations, promoting a comprehensive educational approach that nurtures academic achievement and personal development. Teachers, families, and local stakeholders were actively engaged, emphasizing the role of sport as a driver for inclusion, social cohesion, and the development of transferable skills. The initiative also highlighted the importance of aligning education with students’ interests to open new career pathways. Ultimately, it contributed to building a more flexible, future-oriented learning environment that responds to youth needs and supports long-term educational success.

Activities

A structured set of educational activities was designed to connect academic learning with practical football-related scenarios. Students participated in five core modules: writing a sports article, preparing a football club’s annual financial report, drafting a player contract, analyzing a match, and designing a training session. Each module was supported by active learning strategies, including flipped classrooms, peer collaboration, and role-playing exercises. Sessions with industry professionals provided valuable insights, and all activities were documented through written reports, visual materials, and student presentations. These experiences enabled students to explore key roles in the football industry—such as journalist, manager, agent, analyst, and coach—while developing transversal skills applicable in various professional contexts. The program was jointly coordinated by both partner institutions, with responsibilities clearly defined and monitored through planning tools and regular meetings. This ensured alignment with project goals and maintained consistent quality throughout all phases of implementation, fostering collaboration, shared ownership, and long-term impact on educational practices.

Impact

The project generated a wide range of concrete outputs and measurable results that reflected its educational and social objectives. Five thematic modules were created, each combining academic subjects with football-related scenarios. Students engaged in activities such as writing sports articles, simulating club budgets, drafting player contracts, analyzing matches, and designing training sessions. A digital toolkit was produced, including templates, guidelines, and adaptable materials for classroom use. Students created original content—reports, presentations, and mock contracts—demonstrating applied learning and creativity. A final showcase event was held to present outcomes to families, peers, and stakeholders. The initiative also led to the formation of a collaborative network involving schools, sports clubs, and community organizations. Visual documentation, social media outreach, and local dissemination helped share the project’s impact. Evaluation data confirmed increased motivation, improved attendance, stronger links between education and vocational interests, and enhanced awareness of career opportunities in the sports sector, validating the model’s effectiveness and long-term relevance.
