Objectives

The project has four main goals: to educate students about sustainable behaviours and turn them into advocates for responsible resource use, to increase knowledge about water management and its sustainable use, to work with public authorities to align individual lifestyle changes with political decisions, and to ensure the project's long-term sustainability through the collaboration of different stakeholders.

Activities

Students will research the causes of climate change and its impact on freshwater resources in both partner countries and worldwide; create a website to communicate with partners; calculate individual, family, virtual water footprints; collaborate with agencies and political authorities to find out how water is extracted, managed, used, reused and consumed; engage in public debates. Teachers will exchange best teaching practices to integrate and disseminate them, supporting their sustainability.

Impact

From the project participants we expect increased responsible behaviours and sustainable use of water, the acquisition of green skills through concrete activities, a knowledge and a shared understanding of water-related challenges, strengthened basic and social skills, enhanced participation by disadvantaged students, opportunities for collaboration and innovation also from those indirectly involved, and professional growth for teachers.
