Objectives

Recycling is a necessity, considering that natural resources are limited. Our project aimed to raise awareness about recycling within our community. We wanted to educate students, teachers, and all school staff about the importance of recycling. Additionally, we aimed to contribute to the European economy, promote a love for nature and animals, and encourage environmental protection by advocating for the use of recyclable products. We wanted to show students with special needs the various life opportunities through concrete examples. During the implementation of the project, they developed a passion for animals and a growing sense of responsibility towards the environment. They learned to manage stress through interaction with animals. Moreover, the self-esteem of the children, who felt needed by the animals, was strengthened. We introduced various strategies to calm and relax our students with special needs, allowing them to interact with the animals. These skills were developed through hands-on experience and "doing."
