โถObjectives
The SharE4Elderly Project aimed to improve the well-being of older adults through adaptive sports, technology, and policy development. This Erasmus+ project raised awareness of the benefits of adaptive sports, shared over ten senior-friendly examples from across Europe, and trained partners from Poland, Greece, and Luxembourg in elderly-focused sports methods. The project also introduced innovative tools for active aging, such as fitness trackers, VR exercise games, and fitness apps designed for seniors. These were showcased through successful examples from tech companies, and workshops were held to help seniors use them effectively. Finally, the project developed policy recommendations by consulting health professionals and policymakers. It created guidelines that promote environments supporting active aging and advocated for these policies at local, national, and EU levels.
โถActivities
The SharE4Elderly project included key activities to achieve its objectives and ensure strong collaboration. The Final Meeting and Awareness Event in Luxembourg showcased the results and engaged European stakeholders. A Project Meeting and Learning Activity in Aegina, Greece, during European Mental Health Week, supporte* knowledge exchange on adaptive sports and elderly care. In fact, the partners met twice in Greece during European Mental Health Week (2024 and 2025), strengthening collaboration and promoting awareness around elderly well-being. A Learning Activity at the Medical University of Lodz in Poland offered hands-on training in innovative approaches to active aging. The project also included the research and development of a Good Practice Guide, which gathered effective, senior-friendly adaptive sports methods from across Europe.
