1. We wanted to deepen the understanding between our organizations, exploring both organizational and cultural differences between the Netherlands and Portugal. This mutual learning process strengthened our partnership while looking at different approaches to (world citizen) education. 2. Our goal was to develop an accessible digital platform specifically designed for high school students (13-14 years) to learn about SDGs through non-formal education methods. The platform (www.classroomeurope.eu) makes global citizenship education more engaging and interactive. 3. We aimed to improve students' understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and world citizenship through digital learning experiences. The platform offers complex content that makes global issues more approachable for students. 4. By creating an easy-to-use educational tool, we wanted to reduce teachers' preparation time while providing SDG education resources. The platform offers ready-to-use materials that allow students to navigate their learning journey independently, making it more efficient for teachers to incorporate SDG education into their curriculum in both countries.

Our project consisted of six connected activities from January 2024 to April 2025. Starting with project management, we ensured oversight and coordination throughout the project's duration. Next to that, we began with a five-day kick-off meeting in Portugal (March 2024), where we aligned the objectives and got to know each other's organisations better. This was followed by a research phase, lasting 154 days, during which we gathered data from schools and refined our approach based on user needs. The pilot phase involved creating and testing mock designs with target groups. This feedback helped in the next phase - the digital platform creation. This activity resulted in the launch of www.classroomeurope.eu. The project concluded with an evaluation phase, assessing outcomes and documenting results. Throughout all phases, we maintained regular virtual meetings between the two partners, ensuring smooth collaboration despite the geographical distance. Each activity built upon previous learnings, creating a comprehensive educational tool that serves both teachers and students effectively, teaching about the SDGs in the different countries in an informal digital way.
