Objectives

The main objective of the project was to develop competences and exchange experiences of 15 people from the non-formal education staff of the Kwiatonowice Homini Association, the Wyjdź z Domu Foundation, the INNOVAMENTIS Association and 15 people aged 60+ (seniors, including those with disabilities) from partner organizations in the areas of: civic activity, tolerance towards people with disabilities, promoting the idea of ​​volunteering and seniors’ initiative, and exchanging practices of volunteering organizations in the specificity of different countries. Through the project, the partners aimed to strengthen skills in organizing and promoting senior volunteering, fostering tolerance towards people with disabilities, and promoting the concept of active aging. Another important goal was the development and implementation of local Volunteer Development Plans, which would integrate seniors into local community life. The project also aimed to improve the quality of the organizations' work through the exchange of best practices and mutual inspiration from senior activation methods used in various countries. Activities

The project implemented a total of six international mobilities over a 19-month period. Two mobilities were held for management staff of partner organizations, aimed at exchanging experiences in senior activation strategies, volunteer development, and international project management. Two mobilities were also implemented for educational staff, consisting of short training programs for employees, with a total of 15 participants. Participants developed competencies in working with older adults and people with disabilities, motivating them to act, intercultural cooperation, and the use of innovative non-formal education methods. Additionally, two "adult learner combined mobility" mobilities were conducted, involving 15 seniors from three partner organizations in Poland and Italy. The seniors participated in workshops, volunteer activities, team-building meetings, and local initiatives promoting civic and social participation among seniors. The work of all partners resulted in the development and implementation of three Senior Volunteering Development Plans, which outlined, among other things, the directions for the development of volunteer activities in each organization, proposed local initiatives, and cooperation models.

Impact

As a result of the project's implementation, all assumed goals and results were achieved. A total of six mobilities were implemented, and during four mobilities, a total of 93 hours of workshops and training were conducted for educational staff and seniors from partner organizations. The workshops focused on modern methods of working with adults, motivating volunteers, building civic attitudes, and developing communication and digital skills.Fifteen staff members from partner organizations improved their skills in non-formal education, engaging seniors in social activities, and developing volunteer initiatives. As part of the project, each organization developed and implemented local volunteer activity plans and Senior Volunteering Development Plans, which formed the basis for continued activity during and after the project's completion. Senior volunteers participating in the project developed and implemented at least three civic initiatives for the local community, including outreach, integration, and activities promoting active participation among seniors.
