▶Objectives
The aim of the “ECO TECHNO” project was to improve the quality and modernity of education by developing skills essential for the 21st century, such as communication in foreign languages, effective use of digital tools, teamwork, and environmentally responsible attitudes. We sought to increase the effectiveness of English language teaching in an international context by integrating ecological and technological themes. The project promoted conscious and responsible use of ICT in education and encouraged environmentally friendly behaviours. A key objective was also the inclusion of students with special educational needs and migrant backgrounds through joint international activities that strengthened their self-worth and sense of belonging. Through cooperation between schools from Poland, Romania, and Slovenia, we aimed to foster the exchange of good pedagogical practices, inspire teachers to implement project-based learning, and develop the European dimension of education based on collaboration, tolerance, and civic engagement. The project also focused on enhancing cross-curricular cooperation, building educational partnerships, and ensuring the sustainable implementation of innovative teaching methods in everyday school practice.
▶Activities
As part of the “ECO TECHNO” project, a variety of educational, pedagogical, and dissemination activities were carried out in line with the approved application. The preparatory phase included organisational tasks, setting rules of cooperation, promoting the project, and recruiting students and teachers. 3 educational mobilities were implemented in Poland, Romania, and Slovenia, featuring language and ecology workshops, LEGO robotics, programming with Micro:bit and mBot2, STEAM activities, educational walks, museum visits, performances, and reflective sessions. Students created posters, e-books, quizzes, and multimedia presentations. Locally, pro-environmental actions were carried out: setting up school gardens, creating recycled materials, organising theatre plays in English, and conducting campaigns to promote ecological attitudes – including responsible use of transport, cycling to school, walking, and reducing emissions. Dissemination activities included school events with local community involvement, media publications, engagement on the eTwinning platform, and active presence on social media. As a result, the project brought lasting changes in teaching methods and integrated ecological content into daily educational practice.
▶Impact
The “ECO TECHNO” project generated tangible educational, organisational, and social results aligned with its objectives. The key outcome was improved effectiveness in English language teaching—students developed communication skills in real, intercultural situations. They strengthened teamwork, project work, critical thinking, and creative use of digital tools. Lasting outputs such as e-books, posters, videos, and presentations were produced for further use in schools. Students deepened their ecological awareness through local activities (e.g. school gardens) and mobilities. Teachers enriched their practice by integrating English with environmental and digital education. The project supported inclusion of students with fewer opportunities and strengthened cooperation with parents and local communities. It enhanced motivation to learn, engagement in European initiatives, and sense of belonging. Importantly, it fostered friendships and positive peer relations across countries. Participation also helped students overcome language barriers, boosted confidence, and encouraged curiosity about other cultures, teamwork values, and shared responsibility.
