▶Objectives
In implementing the project, we primarily wanted to achieve an increase in the competence of educational staff, psychologists, educators and social workers who work directly with youth and children. The aim of the project was to develop a comprehensive program of workshops on the prevention of discrimination, the prevention of peer violence and psychological support for young people, especially LGBT+ people. We also aim to exchange experiences and mutual learning between our partner from Italy and an organization from Poland, so that the developed method can be implemented permanently and serve a wide audience.
▶Activities
Four main activities were implemented as part of the project: 1. Development of the workshop program-Based on a series of online meetings and study visits in Italy and Poland, the partners jointly developed a comprehensive workshop program on anti-discrimination for LGBT+ people. 2. Consultations and pilot workshops-With the help of external experts, we conducted consultations to refine the program, and then implemented pilot workshops for teaching staff, psychologists and social workers, gathering valuable feedback. 3. preparation of promotional materials- a professional, multilingual information brochure and a project website were created, so that the results of the project were widely disseminated through social media and online platforms. 4. Project coordination and management-The entire project was efficiently managed by the leadership team, which provided administrative, accounting and logistical support, enabling timely implementation of all activities.
▶Impact
As a result of the project, the competencies of educational staff, psychologists, educators and social workers in the field of anti-discrimination against LGBT+ people were raised. A comprehensive, modular workshop program was developed (8 handouts), which was tested during a pilot workshop to gather valuable feedback and refine the training content. A multilingual information brochure (more than 80 pages) and a project website were created, which allowed for wide distribution of the developed tools and promotion of the project idea in social media and online platforms. As a result, awareness of the problem of discrimination against LGBT+ youth in educational environments was raised, and the results gained began to be used by local training institutions and support organizations. In addition, intensive cooperation between organizations from Poland and Italy enabled the exchange of experiences, strengthening relations between partners and laying a solid foundation for continued cooperation in the future. The results of the evaluation confirmed that the developed model of the workshop contributed to the improvement of participants' competencies, which influenced more effective anti-discrimination.
