Green Oases in the City

We wanted to: 1) make people aware of the importance of protecting the environment and encourage them to act towards caring for greenery around them, 2) exchange good practices and teaching methods in the field of landscape architecture, gardening and ICT subjects, 3) develop high-quality skills and relevant competences to increase possibilities for better career chances for students, especially for students with fewer opportunities, 4) develop social skills enabling students with fewer opportunities to have equal chances in pursuing their career aspirations, 5) promote cross-border cooperation in the fight against climate changes and environment degradation, 6) encourage students to acquire specific knowledge and skills useful for professional development as well as creative application of acquired experience in vocational education, 7) create opportunities for improving ICT skills and develop creative approach towards innovative solutions, 8) help students with difficulties to learn foreign languages including vocational vocabulary, 9) gain new teaching methods for teachers, which could serve the educational purposes long after the project is finished 10) build the network of international cooperation of schools in Europe.

All activities planned in the application were implemented, except one modification. During both partners' meetings in Poland and French Guyane all planned visits to botanic gardens with experts and organised workshops took place; we had mountain forest (incl. Amazon jungle) and nature reserve trips with experts, a visit to the Municipal Ecological Centre+workshops on saving rainwater in Poland; a visit at the local Zoo with nature preserving centre including a presentation in Fr.Guyane; we took part in workshops at local gardening and agricultural companies; workshops on audiovisual recordings, eTwinning tools and other digital tools needed for preparing multimedia presentations took place during both partner meetings. In Fr.Guyane we also had an exciting trip to tropical islands where our students could see for the first time with their own eyes many exotic plants unknown to them - great inspiration to be used for their landscaping designs even in Poland as our climate is getting hotter and tropical plants can now be grown in our area, too. There was also a number of events organised in order to disseminate the results of the project in partner schools. Also hotels for bees were built by participants during meeting in Poland.

There were different types of results elaborated and developed. We prepared various dissemination materials in form of recorded video reports, multimedia presentations, leaflets, posters as well as social media content. Our Landscape Architecture and Gardening students prepared drawings and designs of their ideas of little green oases in towns and cities. There were exhibitions organised to show those designs and drawings to local communities and to inform people about the issues contained in our project. Our Computer Graphics and IT students prepared leaflets and posters for dissemination of the outcomes in social campaigns. We recorded all the activities and published posts about them on social media. We were interviewed by a local radio journalists and this interview was broadcast on the radio. In every partner school, we organised social campaigns informing people about the topic of our project and also about Erasmus+ program in general. We met with local authorities representatives and presented the effects of our project to them. Four wooden structures, so called 'hotels', for bees were made by participants of all partner schools during one of the workshops in Poland and one small garden was created in French Guyane school
