▶Objectives
The main objectives that we aimed to achieve through the implementation of the project were the following:Development of STEAM Skills for Teachers: We wanted to develop the skills of teaching staff in using the STEAM Education approach in their daily work with preschool children. The ultimate goal was the effective integration of all children in learning and socialization activities. This will be achieved through their participation in international experience exchanges during the project.Increasing Children's Awareness of Social and Cultural Diversity: We aimed to increase children's awareness of social and cultural diversity. This will be achieved by promoting tolerance, acceptance and coexistence in harmony, equality and diversity with the people around them. Increasing STEAM Activities in Kindergartens. We aimed to increase the number of STEAM activities in the project's partner kindergartens. This will support and improve connections with participants from different backgrounds, strengthening inclusion. Improving Community Relations. Our goal was to improve relationships between families of children with CES and typical families.
▶Activities
For the implementation of the Erasmus+ project "Harmony and Equity in Diversity", we implemented a wide range of activities aimed at promoting inclusion, diversity and STEAM education. In addition to the activities proposed in the project writing phase, in all 3 partner countries didactic activities were implemented with children and their parents, as follows: Awareness and Inclusion Activities, International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Special actions and events were organized to raise awareness about people with disabilities and promote their equal participation. Reading the book "Susan Laughs": A story that presents a little girl with a physical disability without sentimentality, emphasizing the value of diversity and strength of character. Creating posters for inclusion: Children in the extended program class collaborated to create posters that highlighted the message of inclusion and acceptance of diversity. Multilingualism Day: Activities were organized that promoted the recognition and celebration of linguistic diversity, encouraging children to share elements of their mother tongue. Interactive and Cultural Activities.
▶Impact
Development of STEAM teaching skills: A significant number of teachers have acquired specialized knowledge and skills in applying STEAM education in preschool education. Participation in international experience exchanges (visits to cooperating kindergartens or participation in seminars) has contributed to the adoption of innovative practices. Integration of STEAM into everyday life: Teachers have integrated STEAM activities into their daily program, using them as a tool for integrating all children, including those with different needs and learning rhythms. Raising children's awareness: Preschool children have gained a better understanding of what inclusion and diversity means. Through the activities, they have developed skills of understanding, acceptance and tolerance. Development of skills: An increase in empathy, respect and acceptance of other children, regardless of their characteristics, has been observed. Children learned to sympathize and respect the rights of all people. Quantitative increase in STEAM activities: There has been an increase in the number of STEAM activities, and the most important and beneficial result is the creation of a sensory room in each partner kindergarten.
