Objectives

The main objective of the project was to improve the work of school clubs and extracurricular activities, and to encourage students to actively participate in the learning process. We aimed to promote interest and excellence in STEM fields, as well as to support the development of digital and green capacities in education.

Activities

We implemented all the activities planned within the project. Some of the key activities included: • Creating an urban garden in the school yard; • Designing a smart system for irrigation, lighting, and monitoring the condition of the smart garden; • Developing interactive lessons and exercises for learning; • Organizing various workshops for students and teachers on the use of digital tools to solve software-related problems and apply IT tools in gardening, as well as workshops on microgreen planting and urban gardening; • Presenting a Digital Garden Guide to teachers and students; • Establishing a Sustainable Development School Club, which included the Digital Garden Guide and continued work on the project in its activities; • Enriching the school website with the results of the project; • Presenting the project at the Science Festival held at the Belgrade Fair, where our stand was visited by students from almost all parts of Serbia over three days; • Setting up an Erasmus corner in the school hall, featuring flyers, travel photos, and the Erasmus Guide.

Impact

The project led to concrete results and positive outcomes. Teaching was improved through the integration of digital tools and technologies. Students became more motivated to use IT tools through interactive garden-based activities. Creativity was encouraged, and the Smart School Garden was developed, helping students acquire essential STEM skills. Educational materials were created, including a Digital Garden Guide to support further learning. Interdisciplinary lessons were implemented, linking biology, chemistry, geography, and computer science. A Sustainable Development School Club was formed. Workshops for students and teachers promoted the use of digital tools in agriculture and sustainable practices. Promotional materials (flyers, tote bags, seed pencils, stickers) were produced. An Erasmus corner was set up in the school, displaying photos, guides, and flyers. Activities were regularly published on social media, the school website, in local newspapers, and on MG TV. Cooperation with a Slovenian school strengthened the European dimension of education. The local community—parents, businesses, and neighbors—were actively involved.
